Travelport is the First !! , to receive NDC Aggregator certification from IATA. 

Travelport (NYSE:TVPT) announced that it hasbecome the first GDS to be granted with both ‘Aggregator Level One’ certification and ‘IT ProviderLevel Two’ status by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as part of its NewDistribution Capability (NDC) programme.

For airlines, this means that Travelport is able to fully integrate with its NDC application programme interface should the airline choose to use NDC-XML messaging to distribute and deliver their fares and products.

For travel agencies and travel management companies, this means that when shopping for and booking flights via Travelport’s Travel Commerce Platform, they will have even more enhanced travel content and greater access to ancillary offers. In particular, Travelport-connected agents will be able to make ancillary sales post the original flight booking, and through their preferred agency workflows, for the first time.

Travelport has also achieved the NDC-capable ‘IT Provider’ Level Two status, making it only the second organization—and first GDS--ever to be designated as NDC certified and NDC Capable.

This further expands its NDC capabilities and means that Travelport also has the option to distribute IATA NDC offers for fares and prices on behalf of the airlines electing to use IATA’s industry standards.

Travelport has always made it clear that it recognizes and fully supports the industry need to transform the way air products are retailed, and the requirement to move away from legacy systems, and has already successfully delivered its own in-house air merchandising capabilities with its award-winning Rich Content and Branding technology. This technology allows airlines to retail their full offering and brand proposition to Travelport-connected travel agencies and travel management companies around the world and over 200 airlines are already using the technology. Online travel agencies can also make this information available direct to customers via Travelport’s Universal API.

As well as driving its own merchandising innovation, Travelport has always therefore chosen to be an active participant in IATA’s NDC planning and has been a member of various working groups and steering and committees focused on NDC development. These groups include the Passenger Distribution Management Group Advisory Forum (PDMG AF), the PDMG Working Group (PDMG WG), IATA Simplifying the Business (StB) Think Tank, and the ONE Order Taskforce.

As part of corporate social responsibility,TSL (Pvt) Limited, sole distributor of Travelport GDS’s in Pakistan along with members of civil society gathered for a fund-raising golf tournament on Sunday, 29th January 2017 at Karachi Golf Club. This contest was held to support Aga Khan University (AKU)’s efforts of fundraising for people who are facing Heart diseases.

 

Around 60,000 children's, one in each 100 newborn in Pakistan has cardiovascular disease resulting in deaths without any diagnosis. Cardiac patients are fighting against life threatening heart diseases such as Atrialseptal defect (ASD), Aneurysm, Anginaand poorly formed parts of the heart which could contribute a threat of long-term disability. Lack of awareness and inadequate diagnostic and treatment facilities compound the problem as many Pakistani CHD patients do not survive beyond their first few years. TSL, joined hands with AKU to support such cases and helped them by providing financial aid and participating in the event.

Mr. Ali Naqi Taqi - CEO TSL and Mr. Azam Sultan – Director TSL as (Travelport team), participated in the tournament and played the sport to support the cause.

AKU President Firoz Rasul said, “AKUH is dedicated to the principle that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of their income. Travelport Cricket Tournament 2014

For Agency Partners - Multan

 

 

December 2014: TSL –, a leading GDS Solution provider, recently organized a Cricket Tournament for its agency users in Multan at a local Cricket Stadium. Players from different agencies participated and eight teams named over the company’s products i.e. Travelport Smartpoint, eSource, Boomerang, Viewtrip, Travelport Mobile Agent, Ask Traveport, Rapid Reprice and Catalyst were formed. Which was spread over 7 action packed matches. 

 

The matches were progressed with cheering and chanting from energetic crowd of supporters, including the executive from agencies. After a series of knock out matches Team eSource and Team Smartpoint qualified for the Final match, which was won by Team eSource.

 

Mr. Yasir Rashid - Sales Manager Multan, who also played in the tournament along with Agency executives, handed the awards and medals to the Winning and Runner up teams. 

 

Commenting on the event Mr. Muhammad Sabir- Regional Manager South said “It was an enticing encounter and all the teams played with great efforts, events similar to that encourage greater and enhance working relationships at all levels”.

Travelport Champions Trophy 2014

October 2014 Karachi:  TSL – official distributor of Travelport brands in Pakistan recently organized an enthralling “Travelport Champions Trophy 2014” at a well-known cricket stadium in Karachi. Prominent travel agencies of the trade i-e: Bukhari Travel & Tourism Services, Gerry’s Travel, Aroma Travels, Hadi Travel, Al Karam Travels, Sonya Travels, Fazle Rabbi, JAS Travel, Travel Mate, Welcome Tours, along with AIG Insurance and Travelport teams participated in the tournament, which was spread over 15 action packed matches.

 

The matches were progressed with cheering and chanting from the energetic crowd of supporters, including the representatives of the Agencies who participated in the Tournament to encourage their team. After a series of group matches Gerry’s Travel and Al Karam Travels qualified for the Final match, which was won by Gerry’s Travels.

Differentiated content and product offering results in need to redefine vision and definitions of business operations

 

June, 2014 : Travelport, a leading travel commerce marketplace providing distribution, technology, payment and other solutions for the $7 trillion global travel and tourism industry, has today outlined details of its new global brand vision and strategy.  In a bid to more accurately describe the role Travelport now plays in the global travel distribution chain, where it has strategically invested over recent years, the new vision is a significant departure from historical GDS terminology and language.

 

The new company vision was developed to more closely align with what Travelport now offers the industry, rather than over 40 years ago when it was first developed by airlines and largely concentrated only on basic air transaction processing.  The new vision, ‘The platform that is redefining travel commerce for our customers,’ reflects this evolution.

 

Travelport’s differentiated content and product offering now includes:

·         Enhanced air content distributed through its platform to include fares and ancillary products from low cost carriers as well as network carriers through the same point of sale and workflow management tools. With the addition of Ryanair content at the end of the March 2014, Travelport is now positioned as the only major company in this space to be able to sell content for all of the world’s top 10 airlines.

·         Expanded hotel content offering the ability to travel agencies to make real time reservations for more than 580,000 individual hotel properties, again, leading in this space.

·         Airline merchandising providing functionality which allows airlines to connect to Travelport, and distribute their ancillary products as well as their fares, through either traditional fare filing methods such as ATPCo, or via XML APIs (Application Programming Interfaces).

Peshawar, April 2014: Travel Solutions conducted a first ever Cricket Tournament, for its Agency partners in Peshawar. The tournament received an overwhelming response by leading Travel Agencies. Participated agencies in the tournament were i.e: Shah International, and Travel Solutions team.

 

The tournament included 4 knockout matches, 2 Semi-finals and a thrilling final game. Each team consisted of 11 players and had to play 6 overs. The matches were progressed with cheering and chanting from energetic crowd of supporters, including the colleagues, families and friends. After a series of knock out matches Al Sadi Travels and Travel Solutions team qualified for the Final, which was won by Al Sadi Travels.

 

At the end of the tournament, Mr. Saeed Alam – Regional Manager KPK & Afghanistan Travel Solutions, presented trophies and participation shields to all the teams.

Each team was consisted of 11 players and each team had to play 6 overs.

 

The matches were progressed with cheering and chanting from energetic crowd of supporters, including the staff members of the Airlines who participated in the Cricket Tournament to encourage their teams. After a series of knock out matches Gulf Air and Turkish Airlines qualified for the Final match, which was won by Turkish Airlines.


At the end of the tournament, Mr. Mubasshir Hassan – Branch Manager Islamabad Travel Solutions, presented Winner’s and Runner up’s trophies. Participation shields were also presented to all the teams.
